Back-to-School Boost

Welcome from the Tech Coordinator

I am very excited to be be working with you and your child in the St. Mary Computer Lab again this year. I am committed to making this an enriching, productive and creative year for all.

The goal of the technology curriculum is to prepare students for the changing technological society we live in.  By integrating technology into the standard core curriculum as a problem solving instrument and learning the different software tools, students will be better able to adapt to new technology, use different types of programs and solve problems effectively.

Students gain experience with keyboarding, word processing, spread sheets, database, graphing, researching (Internet), multimedia applications and communications (Internet). Our program includes two types of lessons. 1.) Lessons that integrate the computer into the subject area curriculum, and 2.) lessons that teach a specific computer skill.

Standards of good behavior are stressed in our classroom. Class rules emphasize consideration and respect for others as well as responsibility and care of the equipment.

My experience in technology comes from 20 years of business finance applications and 9 years of teaching math and technology at the junior high level at another school in the Oakland Diocese.

I am very excited about being part of the St. Mary School community and teaching technology. My goal is to provide your child with the guidance necessary to become an active participant in discovering and using new knowledge.

Please feel free to call me at school (935-5054) or e-mail me ( lsanders@csdo.org) if you have any questions or concerns .

Sincerely,
Lisa Sanders
